Welcome to my web corner

Hi👋

My name is Ricardo Carneiro and I see myself as a geek, a problem solver and a guy with a lot of ideas. I have a degree in computer science and I'm working on the industry since 2010. I was born in Portugal 🇵🇹, use to live in Spain 🇪🇸, Ireland 🇮🇪 and México 🇲🇽. At this moment, I'm back to my roots!

Goals 🎯

The idea of having this digital place here is to share the things I learn from my professional career, my experiences through life, my ideologies, my financial knowledge and technical achievements. Pretty much I wanna make this corner something useful to the person on the other side of the screen.

Professional career 📜

Since 5 years ago, I discovered fintech by joining Payzone, in Dublin. From that moment on, I realise this is what I wanna do for the rest of my life! ...And it's been an amazing journey. I've grown a lot, learn even more and was able to work from home since 2019, which I still do until this day. Fast forward some years later and I'm lucky enough to say I love what I do! This allowed me to 100% focus on this area and develop soft skills based on that.

Enthusiastic hobbies 🕹️

When I was around 10ish years old I was introduced with a Intel 486 PC. Back in the day, it was using MS-DOS command line and my so-then neighbour had one. He would teach me some commands like dir and zip stuff, using floppy discs. It was amazing. Somehow, I discovered what I wanna do for the rest of my life and I totally focus on that. Back in 1995, I discovered the world wide web with Windows 95 and around 1997 I was building web pages using Microsoft Frontpage and a LOT of trial and error.

Since then, my hobbies were pretty much code and build stuff from the ground up. Not really ground up because I learned a lot by copy-pasting stuff from other websites (still do 😁).

High school went by, university and I always were doing some background work either alone or with some friend. This allowed me to grow, learn new tech, read about it, trial and error tons of stuff, and the worst, abandon tons of projects and good ideas.
